Used Forklift Part - In the long run, forklift components would wear and have to be replaced. Obtaining brand new components could become a costly undertaking so one more idea is to purchase used forklift parts. This could save a lot of cash eventually. It is a great idea to obtain used forklift components which have been remanufactured. These components will ensure that you are getting parts which would work for a long time and be productive.
Worn or broken parts which are reproduced are a very cost effective answer than rebuilding. With rebuilding components, just the components which are broken or worn out get replaced, which means that other wearable components could break down soon after purchase.
Remanufacturing however provides the best guarantee for used parts. Remanufactured components are taken apart and cleaned and then all wearable pieces are replaced. All wearable components are replaced regardless of age or wear which is another reason why reproduced parts in general function so much better. Any part within the part is new and this provides much longer life to the second-hand part. Depending on the forklift parts that are being redone, the cleaning process and the whole remanufacturing process will differ.
The engines are cleaned after a complete disassembly. Different engine components such as pistons, spark plugs, rings, valve springs, filters, and valves can be replaced during the process of remanufacturing. The engines are hot tested after reassembly to ensure that there are no leaks, no noises, no oil pressure problems or any vacuum.
Transmissions are another thing which is oven cleaned after being disassembled. The transmission is then pressure washed. A thorough inspection is done to be able to check for any cracks. Bushings, seals and bearings are all replaced. Normally, the replacement components used on transmission parts meet OEM specifications.
Some lift truck parts like the water pump, torque converters, the alternator, steer axles and the starter can be quite serviceable after worn components are replaced. The electronic control in the electric forklift is maintained by the control card. This particular card could even be reproduced with replacing all aged and worn out parts. Unlike different forklift components the control card can only have the worn and aged parts replaced.
Remanufactured parts are thoroughly checked upon reassembly to ensure they are in top condition previous to being sold. It is important when buying remanufactured components to be certain they have undergone the proper testing and inspection procedures. On certain bigger components such as engines, transmissions and steer axles, OEM specification replacement components should be used.
The lift truck dealer can ensure that the parts they have reproduced meet the OEM specifications. This will even guarantee the parts meet industry standards. Lots of details go into remanufacturing second-hand components. This attention to detail provides more serviceability out of reproduced parts opposed to the parts that were just rebuilt.
